Hyatt Regency New Orleans is taking an active role in the economic development plan designed by the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission and New Orleans Downtown Development District to revitalize New Orleans' Central Business area. Soon, a new street car line that will run directly in front of the hotel, guests can enjoy shopping, dining, and more at Champions Square and reap the benefits of a new Medical District being developed in the area next to the hotel. More than $5 billion has been spent on the area’s economic development, with all attractions and businesses expected to open by 2014.
